Be prepared for a very long and detailed post on this two company:
  • Grandeur Fai by G5 Events Pte Ltd

  • SMR by SMR Wedding and Events Pte Ltd

Phew! At last I could find a time to blog on this two things. I know brides-to-be, you will be very very interested in this one! This can give you a rough idea - especially in terms of budget.

Let's start off with the big big one - Catering.

My big day (insyallah) - will be a one day event thing. We took the exclusive package which is $25,600 for 1600 pax.
Lek lek, takmo terkejot. Let me do a proper breakdown for you.

Next up is the bridal - Grandeur Fai by G5 Events Pte Ltd

This is prolly the coolest thing ever - They provide you a wedding planner once you sign up. A deposit is required to block off the dates and they are very flexible in terms of payment when you wanna do installment plan basis. You can easily transfer the cash to the company account and staple the receipt to your wedding planner (they have a page where you can do that). In the wedding planner there's terms and condition that you need to read through and sign.

A few pages later they have this page where you can plan your event out properly. you breakdown - the fitting dates etc etc! Best part about Grandeur Fai is you are given to do fitting 7 times! 7 times! Last fitting is a month before you wedding and after that no more changing. No extra charges for new collection - how awesome is that!!

I feel like a dwarf standing nex to the both of them.

How i wish i can post a photo of the planner (inside) - but i understand that only G5 have this wedding planner thingy and takut-takut later other bridal copy lah plak.

Anyway the package that I took is 'Queen'. In this package they offer the following things:

Wedding Fever: Catering by SMR
Part two.

This is one of the most difficult part of all. It's not that we are fussy or anything as such, its just that my family (late grandpa and my grandma) used to be tukang masak for orang khawin you see, so my parents kinda pick up some skills from both of them and they are very particular on the taste, especially my dad.

So anything that taste good on my dad taste butt, means it's really good. My grandma better still - she's able to tell what is inside the dish just by tasting a little bit. Seriously? How on earth did they do it? I remember on incident very clearly, my late grandpa and grandma last catering service they did for one of my relatives, by that time they wanted to retire due to old age, not 1 or 2 but 3 Chinese couple who happens to live in that block where the event was held, came to the kitchen with their own plate and asked them whether is it okay if they buy some of the food from us 'bcoz the smell was on calling them to come down and have a taste of the awesome food and so that they couldn't resist it. They are even willing to pay $10.00 for one plate of briyani.

But of course, my late grandpa declined and told them to feel free and eat the food that's available. They can pass the money the the mother of the bride, plus there's more than enough food for everyone.

Moments later they came back to the kitchen and complimented my grandparents for the awesome food.

"Uncle, I don't really like briyani, but your briyani is one kind. It's very nice, you happen to have a shop anywhere?" - asked the man.

My late grandpa had a little chat and the couples went off. It's the air tangan you see. I can cook but i don't think i'll be as good as my grandparents are.

Back to my catering, remember in my previous post, I posted some photos of us (fiance and I) going for a food tasting with SMR? Yeah, it was our 131473579275 food-tasting and it sealed it!

The thing about me is I'm not a fan of briyani but the fiance is. I'm more to the white-rice kinda girl when it comes to malay weddings. Took different dishes to taste and it was tip-top. The sweet and sour dory fish was crispy, the sauce had this sweet and a little sourish taste(tomato-like) on the taste butt. The daging masak briyani was the best among all. The beef was at a perfect state that you don't need to chew and chew. It was soft and blends well with the rempah-rempah.

Kak Radiah - the owner/director of the company was very nice. She guided us through the food-tasting unlike some catering company, ade ke orang datang food tasting, they gave us packed food? So the experience with SMR was a totally different one. The hospitality was great! I really felt appreciated when she actually explain the different variation that her catering company are able to offer us. I think it was the best that we've went to so far.

Just a little history of SMR: They have been in this catering and decor industry for 13 years. They've built a good and established their reputation well and making it one of the leading catering/decor company in Singapore. You can visit http://www.smrwedding.sg/ to know more about them

A little extra effort goes a long-mile.

I'll update more on the signing of agreement next week! I'll blog more on the details of the packages that i'll be taking and the price breakdown. Read the blog soon brides-to-be!

Wedding Fever: Bridal - Grandeur Fai by G5 Events Pte Ltd
Ahhhhh... After month and months of planning after the engagement, we managed to settle on our bridal for the big day. Fine, it's more like I've been having this bridal in my mind since the day i know that i'm getting married someday. HEH~

I've been a great and prolly the biggest fan of Abg Fai Bani's makeup. He's such an inspiration. I'm thankful to know quite a handful of people in this 'khawin-khawin' industry thus making my sourcing out for the best out of the best for my wedding day a smooth-flowing one. Not trying to boast, but my resources are the ones you've always heard off and they are good - like super good!

Credits to Grandeur Fai Facebook

One of his signature makeup that NOBODY can copy is his Botox Cheekbone. I do not know how he does it but he is terlalu skilled in that! His tangan is extremely magical. Dah macam magicwand - Wahh suddenly cantik gitu!

I need people like him to beautify my tak cantik face - so that i can get (maybe) one or two skipped heartbeat, when i look into the mirror and see myself suddenly macam cantik gitu!

Ohhh wait - the day before, Yesterday I went for a food-tasting at one of SMR wedding place, over at Chai Chee Road and it was love at first sight. I'll explain more later part. Here's the sneakpeek from the wedding - whoever that wedding was - it was freaking awesome. The decor was also from SMR!

Right after the food-tasting, headed down to Singapore Expo and I was happily finding for Grandeur Fai but it was not available. Called Abg Fai up and found out that he's having a private exhibition over at his place.

And guess what - Me being kiasu, yes even my fiance can't stand me when it comes to the bridal part, coz' he almost gave up halfway walking around with me. I caught fiance rolling his eyes at me twice for being very choosy and too detailed today. Jahat kan dia! Sorry lah sayang - Can't help it, who doesn't want the best for your big day right? Lucky thing he got his best-friend to accompany him! I texted Abg Fai and booked an appointment the very next day, which is today!

Fiance fetched me from the house and straight to Abg Fai's place and guess what - I punya lah confident, tak nak tengok address, we ended up at the wrong floor! Pressed the bell a few times, lucky thing the owner didn't open the door. If not - Paiseh sangat-sangat!

I was basically blown away the moment i stepped into Abg Fai's apartment. It was WOW!!! No other words to describe the feeling. His hospitality was tip-top. Fiance who was very shy at first and EXTREMELY SKEPTICAL also started to loosen up.

So as per normal we went through our process of seeing the portfolio etc,etc - and i was like screaming in my heart - please sayang please agree! Pleasssseeeee!

We shook hands with Abg Fai and went off : The first thing that came out from my fiance mouth was

"I love his makeup and I like this bridal ... I think we know who should we take for our big day already" I happy sangat-sangat! I was literally screaming in the lift, too excited - overdosed!

I'm all geared up for my proper formal signing agreement with Grandeur Fai.
Seriously who says Grandeur Fai was expensive? Seriously people. Look at the bigger picture - he throw in lots of free goodies for the bride and groom which I think is very much fair. The groom gets to keep the wedding suit which is tailored made and the bride gets a free wedding heels, which is to die for! / or maybe a free trial makeup.

I would highly recommend the heels coz' why would you want a free trial makeup when you know his makeup is crazy good? You get what i mean?

I'll update more when we've already sign the agreement with Grandeur Fai next week!
